For Mr. Ramlal Bavaria and Mrs. Santra from Bhilwara, Rajasthan, the birth of their premature twins brought both hope and fear.

On 15 September 2026, during the 8th month of pregnancy, Mrs. Santra gave birth to premature twins. Both babies were admitted to the NICU at Garg Child Hospital, Jaipur because of complications related to premature birth.

Thankfully, Twin 2 was discharged on 20 September, but Baby of Santra – Twin 1 remains in the NICU and continues to fight for his life.

Born with a very low birth weight of just 1,370 grams, the baby is suffering from Prematurity, Respiratory Distress Syndrome, and Acute Kidney Injury. He continues to require oxygen support, and doctors expect that he may need another 3–4 weeks of NICU treatment and care.

The estimated cost of treatment is around Rs 3 lakh, an amount that is far beyond what the family can arrange.

The family is already facing the challenges of raising their 16-year-old son, who has a disability and mental health difficulties.

Mr. Ramlal earns only around Rs 500–600 per day by selling toys and balloons at traffic signals and on footpaths. He has no savings or land that he can sell or mortgage to arrange the money needed for his newborn's treatment.

Every day, he struggles to provide for his family while his newborn remains in the NICU fighting to survive.

For a father earning only a few hundred rupees a day, a Rs 3 lakh medical expense is an overwhelming burden.

Baby of Santra needs continued NICU treatment and oxygen support. His family cannot face this battle alone.
