In a small town near Jaipur, a little boy named Kushal is fighting for a normal life. Born with a spinal cord lipoma, a rare condition that causes a tumour to form inside the spine, he has faced more pain in his few years of life than most adults ever do.
His parents, Dinesh and Pooja, have done everything in their power to keep him smiling. Dinesh works a small private job earning just ?10,000 a month, yet he has spent every rupee he could gather for his son’s treatment.
In April 2025, Kushal underwent a VP Shunt surgery to remove excess fluid from his brain. But a few months later, complications arose again, and doctors had to perform another surgery. Now, in October 2025, he is admitted once again with a serious infection called Enterobacter Cloacae. The doctors say he may need another shunt revision surgery to survive.
The total cost of treatment is expected to cross ?10 lakhs, an impossible amount for this humble family. Still, Dinesh says, “He’s our only child. We just want to see him healthy and walking one day."
